Focus (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our macOS application.

Information We Collect

Local Data

Focus stores the following data locally on your device:

• Focus session times and durations
• Usage statistics (daily focus time, streaks)
• App preferences and settings
• Schedule configurations

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable Pro features with cloud sync.

Pro Features (Optional)

If you purchase a Pro license, we collect:

• Email address (for license delivery)
• License key (for validation)
• Usage statistics (if cloud sync is enabled)

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Polar.sh, our Merchant of Record. Polar.sh uses Stripe for payment processing. We do not store your credit card information. Please refer to Polar.sh's Privacy Policy and Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Focus app
• Deliver license keys for Pro features
• Sync your statistics across devices (Pro only, opt-in)

Data Storage and Security

Local data is stored securely on your Mac using standard macOS security practices. Cloud-synced data (Pro users only) is stored using Supabase with industry-standard encryption.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy:

• Account data: Retained while your account is active and for 90 days after account deletion
• License information: Retained for the lifetime of your license for validation purposes
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting requirements
• Local app data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear the data

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law, typically within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

Children's Privacy

Focus is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
